Week of Workouts: 3 Day SplitπŸ’ͺ🏾

Day One, not one day! πŸ”₯

Hello and welcome back to my fitness journey! This three day split was fun and I was able to move all parts of my body in good ways this week. I am really trying to vamp my workout split into a program to follow for discipline and consistency basis. So, to start out strong, I gave myself the challenge of making it three days to the gym. Not consecutively, due to working my way back into the gym, gaining gym confidence back, and helping my body remember what it feels like and my muscle memory to return.

My goals this time around are:

  1. Making it to the gym three times a week for a four weeks.
  2. Building chest strength and focusing on upping my weight by five to ten pounds each week in Bench Press and Incline Press.
  3. Getting back to 8 pull ups in four weeks (today I did three!).
  4. CARDIO! Running a half a mile straight for two weeks, then a mile for two weeks!
  5. Gaining more core and lower back strength. Doing this by hitting core twice a week, and making sure my form is correct on back exercises and upping my weight slowly each week for four weeks. Hitting the 8 pull ups will definitely help with this!

So! Without further ado…Here’s my 3 Day Split!

Big Reset πŸ€ŽπŸ‘©πŸΎβ€πŸ’»

Hello everyone! Let’s welcome all the cozy vibes coming in with Septemberβ˜•οΈπŸ‚!! I’m so ready for it, don’t get me wrong I love summer, but fall is where I feel most comfortable. So with that being said, it’s time for a fall reset!

Organized and Disciplined!

That’s what I’m going with this month! I have a digital planner (click link to get yours!) that can go with me anywhere. It has a yearly, monthly, weekly, and daily planner. A budget and finance planner, that I need BAD! It has a vision board, reflection, and more!! I have to get back into that because the first week of August was amazing with using that!

Speaking of August, I struggled hard last month. It was good then went down hill, FAST πŸ’¨ All the roller coasters 🎒 of emotions, money slipping though my fingers, prayers and devotion were my saving Grace last month. All I could do was give it to God and ride that coaster til the ride came to a halt on September 1st, when I decided to put my foot down and say β€œI will” and β€œI can”. No more of this β€œwhoa is me”, I’m done with that. I’m one for feeling your emotions, but we can’t stay there. We can’t let the darkness consume us.

So with that being said, I’m getting out my digital planner and editing it, putting all the laundry away, practicing Spanish and singing warm ups, I’m making a budget, writing a workout and meal prep plan. I WILL and I CAN! Say it with me. I. Will. I. Can.

And that’s the TeeπŸ‘©πŸΎβ€πŸ’»πŸ’™β˜•οΈ

The College Experience

Good morning Friends and welcome back to Tee Time! Can y’all believe I went back to college after like, what, three or four years off??? Yeah, me tooπŸ˜…!

I am so proud of myself for getting through my college courses this summer. Man! I was not sure I’d make it out aliveπŸ˜…but I did! And you know how I did that? I got a planner, I wrote down all my due dates and study times. I dedicated 2+ hours to classes each day. But you know what else I did? I prayed. I leaned on God. I asked for help! Because I knew I couldn’t do this alone! And you know what God gave me? My support system to hold me accountable.

I want to really thank Kaysie, my step sister, for holding me accountable, making sure I sent her a list of things I needed to get done (daily) and she would ask me throughout the day whether I got things done or not. She always made sure I stuck to my plan and I thank God for her!

I also thank my boyfriend for always praising me for getting things done and reassuring me that I was doing a good job sticking to my plans of action. I felt like I dedicated more time to school than I did our relationship (it’s not true, all in my head) and he always reassured me that that was not the case and he didn’t feel that way at all. And I know it wasn’t the case just I felt like it at times. So I thank him for always making sure I was staying on task but also taking breaks and being done for the day so I didn’t wear myself out with too much studying.

Also thankful for my friends Kenn, Jess, and Britt for always sharing words of encouragement and supporting me through the semester saying I could do this and I got this! I’m so thankful to have them in my life!

I also want to thank the girls from my theater class. All of them were amazing people and I enjoyed getting to know each of them. Abby, Holly, Naomi, Sara, Chrysta, and more…they definitely made it fun to come to a 3 hour class after an 8 hour shift at work πŸ˜‚ we had so much fun and I never got bored with the class. Professor Les, was an amazing instructor and I really enjoyed his class and teaching style. I also recommend Theater for Kids for anyone going into the teaching and education profession! I learned so much about creative drama and how it fits into early childhood education/development, and I strongly believe it’ll be a beneficial class to take for any type of education degrees.

Creative drama deals with movement, pantomime, puppetry, storytelling, and more. All those subjects can be turned into tons of activities to do with children of all ages! From early childhood all the way to high school! We created lesson plans with each subject we learned and I loved how each of them could be modified to fit the appropriate age range with tweaks in intensity levels of each activity, like taking it a step further the older the group.

I also took a child development course and it taught me about prenatal care, birthing stages, all the way up to middle childhood and peer acceptance. I learned so much from this material, and I’ve been in childcare for over 5 years now, but I still learned more about development. I love that because now I can take what I learned from that class and incorporate it into my job! Share my knowledge on emotional intelligence and how gross and fine motor skills are different for all ages. No child is the same. But every child can be amazing!

This was a wonderful experience. Yes there were tears and times I wanted to tap out. But I kept going. I didn’t want to go back to school, felt I was too old for it, and thought β€œwhat else is there for me to learn about?” Well I sure learned more than expected and I’m glad I took that leap of faith and dove into this for myself and my future.

Go TeeπŸ₯³ I’m so proud of you girl!

Now I get a break before fall classes start back up again and I couldn’t be more excited about a break but I’m also ready to learn more about early childhood education! Thank you to everyone was my support system and held me accountable this semester! And thank you God for being on my side 24/7!

Amen!

Thank you for coming to my Ted talk!πŸ€πŸ’ƒπŸΎ Stay tuned for more Tee Time! I love you all! Please FOLLOW, Like, and Subscribe to my Blog, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and Linktree (links below) to see my journey and adventures. Have an amazing weekend! I get to go party with my bestie Jess for her bachelorette weekendπŸ₯³ and I couldn’t be more excited to celebrate with her!

Diary of the Day

Average is Over by Deanna Margo

Hey friends, and welcome back to my Diary of the Day! It’s been a minute but I want to go over some notes took for myself that I want to share with you.

Deanna Margo is a great fitness trainer of Instagram. I just started recently listening to her Mental Reps Podcast in December 2022, and she got me hooked with her realness and non sugar-coating attitude about fitness and health. She has so much advice and as much as I talk of Brittany Lupton, Deanna is just as good! One of her recent podcasts, “Average Is Over” hit me right where it needed to, right at the needed time too. I was on my way to the gym, perfect timing! Every things she spoke, I listed down in my notes app and made sure I took note of what was speaking to me as I listened. So, here’s the list: (excuse my languageπŸ˜…)

  1. Stop skipping the gym
  2. Stop breaking promises to myself
  3. Stop eating bad food all the time
  4. Stop accepting less of myself then I know I am capable of
  5. Can’t go half assing my goals (procrastinating is a no)
  6. Laziness is a no

Affirmations + Mental Health

If you needed motivation, help, or advice about your fit journey, THERE YA GO! It’s all right there in front of us. Right there for you and I to see and tell ourselves. Be YOUR 🫡🏾 own motivation and be YOUR 🫡🏾 first priority! I’m speaking to myself as well, I am holding myself accountable.

Speaking of myself, I am so proud of my mental health. I have come sooo dang far! I used to just cry and give up when things were hard, and let myself spiral until it was nearly impossible to get out of that darkness. But now, I just let go of what I cannot control. I pray. I believe in myself. I put my mental health, my feelings, first. I listen to worship music and study the Bible daily!

Dear Past Me,

Hey girl, you are doing so well, even when you think you are not. I promise everything will be okay, and you WILL get through this honey! You are strong, you can do this, you are enough, you are TEE!

Love,

Present MeπŸ₯²πŸ«ΆπŸΎ

3 Things I’m Grateful For

  1. ME
  2. God + Jesus for being my rock!
  3. Prayer, without prayer, I wouldn’t be a follower of Christ!

Remember:

-Don’t let the hard days win

-Your peace comes first

-You are enough

-You can do this!

Welcome To: Gym Girl Era!!

Y’all I am beyond proud of myself for going to the gym for 9 weeks straight!! Can you believe it? CAN I BELIEVE IT????🀯 Week after week, it was different for me. Like the first four weeks I did the Shred Program by Brittany Lupton and that…THAT was amazing and I am so beyond proud of myself for completing that four week challenge! Then there was the second four weeks, I jumped right in to Brittany Lupton’s Advance Program and completed that! It was so amazing having my best friend, Kennedy, with me those 7/8 weeks, and she is still going strong with me every single day✊🏾.

Don’t put me too high on a pedestal, there were a few days in there where I didn’t want to get up at 5a.m. and go to the gym, so I let my body rest. I stayed in bed and slept in. BUT I didn’t let that stop my grind. This year, 2023, I chose to be very disciplined and stick to my grind! That’s something I was going to make a priority. To stick to my plan, and continue going and it helps a lot having a buddy go with me. We held each other accountable and I loved that for us!

Oh, before I forget, I decided that my 9th week going to the gym would be my deload week. Meaning, lifting 30%-50% lighter than my normal to give my body a break but still stick to my routine. It was hard to not lift as heavy as I am used to but it was nice for a small break. I read from the KK Fit twins on Instagram that a deload week is good around week 8-10, so I choose the middle, week 9. So now I’m on to week 10, and I’ve already got myself set on lifting heavy again! YAYπŸ₯³ it feels like it’s been so long haha, not really but do miss hitting consistent PRsπŸ₯².

Side note: I weighed myself after week 8 and I lost about 5 pounds! That may not seem like a lot but to me it is. I’ve been trying to eat better and everyday is a battle but I’ve got this! This week coming up, I’m trying to my hardest to get my nutrition for my body right. I’m trying to eat cleaner, more whole foods, and lot’s of protein! I don’t think I want to go on a diet, per say, but I do want to use the 80/20 method (whole foods/fun foods: desserts, wine, candies etc.) so I don’t just cut the “bad” foods out of my life, because ya girl will not do that so why even sit here and say otherwiseπŸ˜…. But Deanna Margo on Instagram said that the 80/20 method was a good route to go for us foodies, so that’s what I’m doing. I’ll report back on how that’s going!

Side joke: My pastor was reading a scripture in church today and said ‘Jesus is the bread of life” and then stated “SEE, carbs are good for you”🀣 I just thought that was hilarious!

Anyways! Thank you all so much for following along in my fit journey so far. And please, please, please, feel free to use my Shred blog posts (links below) in the fit journey tab as reference for good workouts, by Brittany Lupton. I got leg days, upper body days, cardio and core days, so just feel free to use that as a workout reference. Also, let me know if you do decide to use those and we can talk about how ya liked it! Also, if you want to see the Advanced Program I did for weeks 5-8, go follow Brittany Lupton’s Instagram and App! I 10/10 recommend the app and her page, she’s a certified fit trainer and is a very good coach!

Diary of the Day

Good morning friends! Welcome to my blog! I’m so excited to be back and sharing my diary with you!

Lots of things have happened this month! I’ve accomplished so many of my goals for the month of January, and I’m so proud of myself! The biggest challenge was finishing Brittany Lupton’s 4 week SHRED program. I cannot believe I went to the gym 5 days a week at 5a.m. for four weeks straight, then won the $500 CASH PRIZEπŸ€‘for being so consistent during the four weeks. So thank you to Brittany Lupton, for awarding me with that prize, you have no idea how much that helps! Another thing I accomplished this month was reading the entire Book of Psalm in the Bible. I am so proud of myself for reading five chapters a day of the Bible, and not only have I been reading the Bible daily, but I am choosing to surrender myself to Jesus and get baptized next week at church. I am so ready to do this for myself and be one with the Lord. I’ve known for a while now that I wanted to get baptized but I wanted it to be the right time, and now it is. Lastly, another thing I got done this month was reading and finishing my first romance novel of the year. I read “The Exhibitionist” by Tara Sue Me, and it is a 10/10 recommended readπŸ“–. I will be doing a Book Review on it as well, so stay tuned for that!

Otherwise, I have been really trying hard to stay on track with my goals for the year, and there are lots of things for me to work on and do better at, but overall, I have a lot of winsπŸ₯‡for the month of January.

3 Things I’m Grateful For

  1. Myself. I am grateful that I’ve held myself accountable this entire month and being disciplined, as that was my word for this year.
  2. My boyfriend. He has been my ROCK through our entire relationship, he treats me like the princess I am and spoils the crap out of me 😏 I love him❀️
  3. This blog and all of you. I am so grateful that I have this space to share my thoughts, feelings, and experiences!

What are some things you’re grateful for? Reflect on those for a moment, and feel free to share that with me! I’d love to know! Share below in the reply section or leave a comment or dm on my Instagram (link below).

BLOGMAS!!!

Part 1

WELCOME TO BLOGMAS!! I was inspired to do this by all the influencers I follow on Instagram and TikTok that are doing this on their socials. Not sure how I’m going to do this but bare with me because I am excited about it.

I’m going to give you guys a little run down on my past week, well the last four days! I posted a Daily Journal on December 1st about that day already but it basically was about goal setting, and doing that and getting it ready for the new year! I have a ton of goals, and I did find a couple templates that I will be trying out to help complete these goals next year. I cannot wait to print out these templates and add them to a binder! I’ll share the templates below!

After taking my time all day on the 1st to find those templates, I went to my first YOGA class! And it was so…AMAZING. I was so relaxed and peaceful, stretching and moving my body like that, and listening to the instructor take us through the session was so amazing that I know for sure that I will be adding it to my workout/get my body moving routine. I took my first class at Rootdown, and I loved that place. They had a 20classes/$20 going, so I signed up so I could try out a few classes this month before I actually buy some type of membership next year.

Speaking of the workout routine…oh boy…it’s been a STRUGGLE y’all. I went twice this week so far, which is good (I wanted to say “better than nothing”), and I’m on the fence about going today to get that last workout in before the new week next week and finish strong this week but I’ve really been trying to figure out what kind of routine I want to have. Like I know the basics, I want two upper body days, and two lower body days, but I have no idea which days of the week I want to go, what times of the day I want to go, or where to input a yoga class. I want two rest days a week at the least as well, it’s just all a mess, and I have to find one more tracker to add to those templates for my workout schedule. Because ya girl is struggling with this workout routine/schedule. I need to really work on discipline and that’s another goal for myself next year, I have all the motivation in the world but what I don’t have is, is consistency and discipline. I don’t want the gym to be a chore, but lately it has been and I don’t like it. So, I’m going to really sit down a work on this, either today or this coming week. I know, today, I am finding a template for some sort of schedule because I know it’s what I need to really focus on being active.

Anyways, about the rest of the week. It was a blur, but on the 2nd, I help my best friend, Kennedy, reorganize her preschool classroom! I was there, literally, from 8am to 6pm! 6pm! Do you hear me? Like I was there ALL day and took her out to dinner with some of our other friends and had a blast. We got a lot of work done and I really hope she loves her new classroom!

On the 3rd, aka yesterday, what did I do? I went to a craft show to support my beautiful step mom! She had a booth there, and I bought my first ornament for my boyfriend’s mom’s Christmas tree from her. It’s super cute, I’ll show you on the blog Instagram (PLEASE FOLLOW, link below!). Then that’s when I hit the struggle bus that I was talking about earlier about the workout routine. I was going to go yesterday, I really was, but I just did not want to. I chose to nap all day, then read, which isn’t bad because I like listening to my body but here’s the problem. My MIND was playing tricks on me and made me think my BODY didn’t want to go to the gym or be active in some sort of way but it was my MIND’S FAULT! I literally talked myself out of going to the gym in Dollar Tree! Dollar Tree? Tee…come on girl. We aren’t going to reach our goals like this. This is why I need a schedule, on paper, in checklist format, where I can check each day off in writing.

And last but not least, today. December 4th, a recap on my morning, I woke up, finished Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover, of course it was an amazing book and I love her so much. I do not think I’ll do a review on this one because I seen this more so as a fun read than an emotional connection like the three previous novels of Hoover’s. Then, once I got to the last few chapters of Ugly Love, I did get emotionally connected and teared up of course so, y’all know the drill already, lol. I did decide that I will be reading the Slammed Series, Maybe Series, Hopeless Series, November 9, and Confess by Hoover as well, might start today or tomorrow, stay tuned! I also made a bagel, chat with the bf this morning, had my cappuccino, watched Youtube and TikTok videos by my favorite influencers, and now I’m here for BLOGMAS!

P.s. I have been diving into the Bible! I am reading, for Advent, the Book of Luke on the birth and life of Jesus, our Lord! I’ve read chapters 1-3 and will read chapter 4 today!

So, there it is, my BLOGMAS recap of the last four days! I hope you enjoyed. I’ll probably skip posting my week of workouts today, but then again, who knows, I say that now but could post it anyways. So be ready for that. I also want to promise that my short story will be posted before Christmas, and if not, I promise before the end of the year. I will give you guys my first short story. I’ll make an Instagram relate date, countdown for y’all.

Follow the BLOG + INSTAGRAM (link below)! I love you all! Stay cozy fam! Thanks for all the follows and likes! Please continue! I’m off to they gym! XOXO.
