Week of Workouts: 3 Day Split💪🏾

Day One, not one day! 🔥

Hello and welcome back to my fitness journey! This three day split was fun and I was able to move all parts of my body in good ways this week. I am really trying to vamp my workout split into a program to follow for discipline and consistency basis. So, to start out strong, I gave myself the challenge of making it three days to the gym. Not consecutively, due to working my way back into the gym, gaining gym confidence back, and helping my body remember what it feels like and my muscle memory to return.

My goals this time around are:

  1. Making it to the gym three times a week for a four weeks.
  2. Building chest strength and focusing on upping my weight by five to ten pounds each week in Bench Press and Incline Press.
  3. Getting back to 8 pull ups in four weeks (today I did three!).
  4. CARDIO! Running a half a mile straight for two weeks, then a mile for two weeks!
  5. Gaining more core and lower back strength. Doing this by hitting core twice a week, and making sure my form is correct on back exercises and upping my weight slowly each week for four weeks. Hitting the 8 pull ups will definitely help with this!

So! Without further ado…Here’s my 3 Day Split!

Waiting With God

Waiting…

It’s the one thing none of us want to do. It’s something so hard to do. Nobody wants to play the waiting games. But sis, let me tell you, when you WAIT WITH GOD (Psalms 27:14 NLT), and get what is coming for you, it’s so much more rewarding.

Leaning on God has been all I’ve been able to do this year. For a house. For a ring. For a business. For rest. For children. It’s all I want. But it took a devotional yesterday or the day before, before I sat back and asked God what His Will for me is. How silly of me! To think that I was in control here. Yeah, I want all of those things, and I’m not saying God doesn’t, but did I even ask Him what He wanted for me? Nope. Sure darn didn’t. I just prayed and prayed for the things I wanted. And that’s okay to do, He says, be specific, ask and you shall receive (Luke 11:9 NLT, John 16:24 NLT). But I hadn’t asked God to show me the things He wants for me, His Will for me.

So last night, that’s what I did. I asked Him to show me, tell me, and I need to be still and listen (Psalms 46:10 NLT).

If you are in the waiting period, know that you are not alone. God is with you (Joshua 1:9 NLT) and so am I.

3 Things To Be Grateful For…

  1. GOD + HIS SON! I will forever be grateful for our merciful God and Savior. I have tons of testimonies this year alone to know that God is greater!
  2. The Bible! I am grateful that God has never went back on His promises to His people in the Bible. He will never forsake us! He is with us. I have a lot of the New Testament, and two and half books of the Old Testament, and man have I seen God do some amazing things for us! If you haven’t read the Bible, it may be your time to start. 10/10 rec!
  3. My boyfriend Landon! He puts up with some much from me, and I know God gave me him. I couldn’t have gotten this far without him, and I don’t know where I’d be without him. God really knew what he was doing three and half years ago when our paths crossed.

What can you be grateful for today?

Hobby Refresh

Good morning, FRIENDS☀️ and welcome back to the blog!!

This summer has been filled with excitement and passion for my two favorite hobbies. Writing ✍️ and the gym 🏋🏾‍♀️. It’s been so fun to get back into hobbies that I truly enjoy doing for fun, stress free. The best thing about all of it though, is being able to do this with my cousin Tae. Both hobbies, we have in common, so doing them together has been wonderful. She’s such an inspiration and sharing a common hobby together has truly been the best for my mental health.

Let’s talk about the gym, first. Tae and I have been going to the gym together this entire summer and usually workout 3-4 days on average. I’d say our workout split has been two lower body days and two upper body days, but if we only make it 3 times, we do one upper, one lower, and full body, such so we cover all our bases. I do add in at least 1 or 2 active rest days (ex. A walk, physical therapy, or yoga). There are days where we go alone, but what’s the fun in that🤨🤭. On the days where I go alone I try to focus on goals I have for myself, like a bench press or pull up Pr.

Either way, the gym has been such a journey for me lately and knowing I have a partner/gym buddy makes it all the better. Here are some links to my recent workouts in case you missed it and need examples:

Now, to the most exciting part for me, diving back into writing! I posted on my Instagram story, that I am officially writing a book! It’ll probably be finished by the end of the summer, and it’s a solid project that I have spent so much time on. I don’t know when I’ll give more details, on it, as it’s a personal project for me, but I will say the Dark Romance genre ❤️🌹❤️‍🔥🌶️. I’m still working on solidifying the trope(s) for this book, but I’m pretty sure I know what they are now. I’ve got two great main characters who I love and adore 🥰.

I promise to share more details as I become more confident in my work and this project, so please, stay tuned! This book is going to make my inner child so happy and proud, 🥹 because young Tee has written so many wonderful stories and drafts throughout her life, since she decided in her 6th grade language arts class that she wanted to be an author. I’m not calling this my Golden Year ✨ for nothing!

So, what are some of your favorite hobbies this summer/this year? Leave a comment, and let’s chat it up!

Thank you for reading! I couldn’t do this without you! And that’s the TEE☕️🩵

See you next time 👋🏾 On the Blog!

Good evening blog fam! I’ve got a mini book review for you on Mistletoe Kisser (with a little taste of review on the Blue Moon series) by Lucy Score!! The Mistletoe Kisser is the last book of 8 in the Blue Moon series and I’m so sad about that. Why? Because I loved this little town, and pictured myself there when reading. Lucy Score’s Blue Moon series was a good chunk of my reading life and TBR pile! Please add this and the the other Blue Moon series to your TBR, 10/10 RECOMMEND!

Update on TEE☕️🩵

What I’ve Been Up Too

Hello, and welcome back to the blog! Ahh it’s been so long. So without further ado, I want to give you a little update on what 2024 has been like so far me. Firstly, I’ve been getting closer and closer to God. How? Well, I’ve been reading His word, the Bible, and studying it. Taking notes and writing the lessons of each chapter I read.

Speaking of reading, I’ve already read 5 books this year already. My goal for this year is to read at the least 25 books, because last year I was able to read 28. So, I’m hoping I can beat both, but I think this year a bit busier than I’ve expected it to be 😉. ALSO, how could I forget God’s biggest blessing for me this year! My new job! I waited for this door to open, listened to God, and let God guide me right into this new company I’m working for now. They had all the right things, and felt the best for me, and I accepted the position. I’m still a Director of childcare, but I’ll have more responsibilities than I’ve ever been granted before and I’m ready to tackle it, day by day!

Now let’s get into the toughest thing I’ve been dealing with year. My fit journey. Ya girl just isn’t getting up at 5am to workout, she isn’t going 4 days a week, and you know what else she isn’t doing? Eating the best. But that’s okay. I give myself grace because God said so. My main goal now, starting today, is to go even when I don’t want to, especially if I have time. Lately, this year, I’ve been going 2 days tops a week to the gym, and although that is less than before, it’s still consistently. So, I’m counting that as a plus! My second goal, is to choose healthier options to eat vs. the junk food. Ya girl is a chronic snacker, for sure and that’s my own problem😄.

Before moving on with things to be grateful for, I want to state that I’m still practicing Spanish and singing. I’m still going to bed at a decent time, taking my vitamins every morning, drinking my water daily (need to drink more), I’m still doing devotionals, and having prayer time with God each morning/day. And I love that for me. My life is good! And I thank GOD for that!

3 Things I’m Grateful For!

  1. Landon, my handsome protector boyfriend. I cannot believe how wonderful these three years have been. He’s such a great and honest man. He only wants best for me and us. I love him dearly, and he’s saved me from myself, my nightmares, my fears, and doubts. I love you, LCG! 🥰
  2. Port City Church. My church home. I love this church with my whole heart! They’ve welcomed me with open arms, just like our loving God told them to. I adore each woman in my small group. And I appreciate Anika and I’s friendship and JP for believing in my singing voice to praise our GREAT GOD above!! I truly am blessed for PCC 🎤🩵
  3. Finally, best for last. I’m grateful for my awesome God and His son Jesus. For all the blessings, miracles, lessons, and so on. I will wait on the Lord. He will never forsake me! Amen!

Thank You

Goodbye , 2023!

Dear God,

I am so thankful for everything 2023 had to offer. I am so thankful for my church home, Port City Church. I am so grateful for everyone I had to lean on this year. I am so thankful for all the blessings You gave me this year. Thank you. Thank you Lord, for Your never ending faithfulness. I cry out to You, that I don’t look back. That I don’t dwell on the past. That I rise up to all the greatness you have planned for me in 2024!

“Burn the ships, and don’t you look back!”

It start’s tomorrow, and I’m ready, my God. For WHATEVER it is that You have planned! So, here’s to 2023 and 2024!!

Pastor Steve, PCC

I pray that everyone be thankful for 2023 and even more for 2024! Who else is ready? To crush new goals? To read more books? To eat more clean, but not have a bad relationship with food? To move your body more? To REST? To have UNHURRIED peace? Because this girl, right here, is!

Strong In Faith

Heyyy friends! I just wanted to start this blog post off by saying just how strong my faith in God has been lately. You guys knows I’m always reading my Bible, praying, going/watching church, and sharing my notes and verses of the day. I love that I’ve come so far and people can really tell my love for Jesus! So much so that Anika, small group leader and in the worship team at Port City Church, asked me to co-lead small group with her! I was so honored for the offer, and I’ve been praying about it this entire week! I haven’t accepted the offer yet, because I want to pray more about it and do devotionals about it first before jumping into the role. It’s a big one, so I want to go to God about it first and actually pray on my answer! I’m so proud of my faith, and how strong it’s become since December, and over the years. I found an amazing church home and I LOVE that for me!

Singing Journey

So friends, the secrets out! I’ve been practicing my signing for months now. Each week is different for me, ups and downs and highs and low. But since about July, maybe June, I have been meeting with Port City Church’s worship team! JP and Anika are amazing vocalist and I couldn’t thank them enough for encouraging me and helping me with my own voice. I do two different types of warm ups, “Female Vocal Warm Up” by Jeff Mathena, and “Power Vocal Warm Ups” on Spotify! (LINK THEM). Another tip that Anika gave me last week, was using “lelele” to mask the actual words with, so that I can work on matching pitches and tones. I was so inspired after doing that for the very first time with Anika during our first mentoring session. I could immediately tell that I actually was able to hit those higher notes! I struggle with higher notes, because I believe I’m an Alto and sometimes I feel like some notes out of my range. I also met with JP two or three times since June/July, and he gave me some amazing tips. He shared both warm ups with me. He told me to record myself so I can see how I’m progressing, which I finally did a week ago! 🫣😬 Why did it take me so long? Because I was nervous, scared actually. I didn’t want to do it because one, I hate my voice being played back to me, and two, I didn’t have enough confidence to actually record myself. But last week, after meeting with Anika, she convinced me and explained that it will help me even more than I could possibly imagine. And she was right. I finally recorded myself signing! It was soooo cringe! But now I know what I need to work on! All of it!🤣 Another tip that JP gave me, and I LOVED hearing was that signing is about the hours you put in. That’s so important to know because it’s not about how many years. It’s about the hours. And I always keep that in the back of my head. With all that being said, I just wanted to share my singing journey. I have lots to work on, and great people to help with this new journey I’m on! I’m so thankful for Anika for telling me that I’m actually really good at singing, that she can tell I have potential! That was so heartwarming to hear🩵
