“Now I’m dancing on the grace that I once lived in!” // “GOODBYE YESTERDAY” by ELEVATION RHYTHM, Gracie Binion

Hey everyone! It’s be soooo long!! My gosh I can’t believe (well I can but still) that I haven’t posted a single blog this year on the website. I would say I’m ashamed but my heart just wasn’t in it. Sadly. But I want to do this now, and that’s what matters! I hope you’ll stay with me through the highs and lows. 🩵

The Year of Goodness☀️ —Don’t forget how Good God Is

Before we get into the depths of the post, let me start off being telling you my word for the year and how it’s impacted my life.

My word of the year is GOODNESS. The word has been spoken over my life and I’ve experienced tremendous amounts of Goodness throughout this year (all my life😉). God has really shown me how good He is by blessing me and giving me the courage to sustain myself in His presence each and every day. When I remain humble and faithful, God shows up. Over and over again. I can’t believe nor comprehend the amount of security I have in Christ and the One True God.

God has shown up for me by showing me who is for me and against me, by blessing me with ability to lead others in worship (we’ll go deeper into this later), and by showing me that when I lean on Him, I have everything I need.

“You are my everything!” // “WHAT A GOD” by SEU Worship/ONE HOUSE

The biggest change and answered prayer is that I am now on the Worship Team at Port City Church. It’s been the biggest blessing I’ve had in my entire life and I know it’s because it’s what I’ve been called to do. Sing His praises. Took a year and a half, for me to finally get on stage but all of it was worth the wait!

Let’s talk about the waiting. Gosh it was hard, but easy at the same time with the help and mentorship I received from JP (previous worship director) and Anika (current worship director). Those two people led me through my journey of becoming a vocalist just like my heart longed for. Then Easter Sunday came and Tee was a gang vocalist for the worship service!! Ahhh highlight of the year!!

I’ve been on stage at least twice a month since then and let me tell you, GOD DID THAT! He knew what He was doing when He placed a microphone in my hand, and song of praise out of my mouth! I’ve come to love everything about worshiping our Heavenly Father and Jesus. the Holy Spirit fills me every single time I get to help lead others through worship! My step-mother Melissa said I get so giddy, have so much confidence, and love it so much because it’s where God is meeting me. God meets me on stage so that I do this all for Him. Not just for me. It’s about the callings snd my calling is to lead others in worship! Can I get an amen! 🙏🏾

Speaking of the Lord, let’s talk about the Word. Bible study has been a journey, trust me. There are days where I don’t get to my Bible reading and those are usually the days where I either fall short, am stressed, or having a hard time. So, my understanding is, getting in God’s Word and sitting within His presence is the best option for my soul, heart, and mind.

I have read from Genesis through Job in the Old Testament and man has it been a great thing to study and read through. I’ve learned so much, from the stories of Moses, David, Joseph, to Ruth, Esther, Job, and more! After getting all the way to the book of Psalms (which I’m currently reading through now), I have a better understanding of the Old Testament. Especially when at church, I actually understand what the sermons are talking about because I’ve read through Scripture and comprehended what I read. How awesome is that!

This is a lengthy post but I feel like it’s needed. Bear with me, we’re almost to the finish line. 🏁

Moving forward to the hobbies of life.

  1. I’ve read 22 books this year! Genres range from: Romance, fantasy, mystery, thriller, personal growth, Christian! Want recs? I’ll send some in a later post!
  2. The GYM! Listen, the gym and I weren’t the best of friends for a like half this year but once I fell back in love with it, last week, I’m here 3 days a week, and I LOVE IT. I’ll even be posting my workout routine and what I do each time I come. It’s okay to fall in your fitness journey, routine, whatever you wanna call it. As long as you get back in! And that’s all that matters! On the days I’m not in the gym, I’m doing yoga, resting and recovering, a walk outdoors, etc, so there’s always other forms of working out other than the gym! Remember that!

Gratitude:

  1. I am grateful for my GOD! He has done wonders in my life and I could cry daily about it!
  2. My boyfriend is my favorite person in this world, I wouldn’t be here without him. He’s gotten me through tough times, and loves me for who I am. I will forever be thankful for Landon!
  3. My church! Port City Church has shaped me into a fellow Christ follower and I praise Jesus for this! Thank you to Anika for aiding me in my call to worship, Pastor Steve, Pastor Apollo and Pastor Dave for sharing the message of God each week!
  4. For my community of women in my life holding me up!
  5. For prayer, without it I couldn’t speak to my heavenly Father ! And I cherish my time and talks with God!

Well! It’s been an honor writing for you, welcome back to my blog! I love you! Follow me on Instagram for now other than this website! Links below!

Good evening blog fam! I’ve got a mini book review for you on Mistletoe Kisser (with a little taste of review on the Blue Moon series) by Lucy Score!! Update on TEE☕️🩵

What I’ve Been Up Too

Hello, and welcome back to the blog! Ahh it’s been so long. So without further ado, I want to give you a little update on what 2024 has been like so far me. Firstly, I’ve been getting closer and closer to God. How? Well, I’ve been reading His word, the Bible, and studying it. Taking notes and writing the lessons of each chapter I read.

Speaking of reading, I’ve already read 5 books this year already. My goal for this year is to read at the least 25 books, because last year I was able to read 28. So, I’m hoping I can beat both, but I think this year a bit busier than I’ve expected it to be 😉. ALSO, how could I forget God’s biggest blessing for me this year! My new job! I waited for this door to open, listened to God, and let God guide me right into this new company I’m working for now. They had all the right things, and felt the best for me, and I accepted the position. I’m still a Director of childcare, but I’ll have more responsibilities than I’ve ever been granted before and I’m ready to tackle it, day by day!

Now let’s get into the toughest thing I’ve been dealing with year. My fit journey. Ya girl just isn’t getting up at 5am to workout, she isn’t going 4 days a week, and you know what else she isn’t doing? Eating the best. But that’s okay. I give myself grace because God said so. My main goal now, starting today, is to go even when I don’t want to, especially if I have time. Lately, this year, I’ve been going 2 days tops a week to the gym, and although that is less than before, it’s still consistently. So, I’m counting that as a plus! My second goal, is to choose healthier options to eat vs. the junk food. Ya girl is a chronic snacker, for sure and that’s my own problem😄.

Before moving on with things to be grateful for, I want to state that I’m still practicing Spanish and singing. I’m still going to bed at a decent time, taking my vitamins every morning, drinking my water daily (need to drink more), I’m still doing devotionals, and having prayer time with God each morning/day. And I love that for me. My life is good! And I thank GOD for that!

3 Things I’m Grateful For!

  1. Landon, my handsome protector boyfriend. I cannot believe how wonderful these three years have been. He’s such a great and honest man. He only wants best for me and us. I love him dearly, and he’s saved me from myself, my nightmares, my fears, and doubts. I love you, LCG! 🥰
  2. Port City Church. My church home. I love this church with my whole heart! They’ve welcomed me with open arms, just like our loving God told them to. I adore each woman in my small group. And I appreciate Anika and I’s friendship and JP for believing in my singing voice to praise our GREAT GOD above!! I truly am blessed for PCC 🎤🩵
  3. Finally, best for last. I’m grateful for my awesome God and His son Jesus. For all the blessings, miracles, lessons, and so on. I will wait on the Lord. He will never forsake me! Amen!

Thank You

This was a book recommendation from one of my close friends, Keely, and my step sister, Kaysie. And let me tell you!!!!!!!! Twisted Love was definitely TWISTED! I’m sure I have whiplash from all the plot twits in this romance novel. I won’t spill all the details but here’s what I thought of it below!

It Starts With Us by Colleen Hoover

Such A Great Author

Oh, Colleen! You did it again girl! I cannot stress how much this book was needed! Thank you BookTok for pressing Colleen Hoover to write this for Lily and Atlas! I honestly enjoyed it so so much! Like everything about this book was needed! Lily did some self growth in this book, Atlas step up to the plate for his family, that he wasn’t even aware of, Ryle pulled himself together enough, it all was just GREAT! I didn’t ugly cry until the ending almost, at the most giving statement in the book. “It starts with us,” and BAWLED my eyes out! I won’t give away too many spoilers and say what that was about, but iykyk! 🥹🥲

I cannot get over how great of an author Colleen Hoover really is. Like I didn’t randomly find her, people have been suggesting I read her books, for a while. So when I finally got into them, I couldn’t put it down. And oh! The acknowledgments got me too! When Colleen Hoover said she was thankful for her readers, boogers, and librarians for sharing their love for reading! Ahhh! Something just hit me in the feels and I lost it again, because I’m sharing my love for reading by posting this book review for her books, and I have nothing bad to say about her books, other than some endings are rush. But hey, coming from someone who hasn’t ended a story of her own, I cannot talk too much about that 😂 ugh I just love the three novels I’ve read so far by her, and I suggest that if you’re getting into Hoover books, you should start with these three because they suck you in so fast and they do not disappoint!

I have another author, who’s books get me like that as well, Tara Sue Me, she’s really good, but Colleen Hoover, comes at a close second. I will also say, someone in my family asked if Colleen Hoover was the “new” Sarah Dessen and I will say, it does bring me back to the Sarah Dessen novels, even those were young adult novels, and these are adult, but the obsession I had with Dessen as a teen was probably just about the same for Hoover, her books are like the big sisters to Dessen’s books! Maybe one day I’ll even go back and read some do the Sarah Dessen novels!

Star Rating:

I would give this book another 5 out of 5! Better yet 10/10 recommend! You have got to read this book, and really do suggest reading It Ends With Us first before you start this one. She really did give us the love story that Lily and Atlas needed! Lily deserved to be loved the correct way, and Atlas was the man for that! I also am so happy for Atlas and what he got to do for his family because he really did exactly what I would have done for my family as well. And it hits home just a little bit! But before I give anymore spoilers at 6am this morning, I leave you with this: GO READ HER BOOKS! Now!

Alright! There is it is folks! Good morning and I hope you guys have a great day while I draft some more for you all! Wasn’t planning on taking yesterday off but things happen! Life happens! Love you! GO FOLLOW THE BLOG + INSTAGRAM! See ya in the next one! 👋🏾 ✌🏾
